| | OpenAL (with EAX5) library for X-FI on Linux was promised. When will be available? April 30, 2007 -- Creative plans to make proprietary (closed source) drivers available for the X-Fi series of sound cards. SEE Soundcard Support for updated details. These drivers should have full support for ALSA (playback, recording, mixer, MIDI, synthesis) and OpenAL 1.1 (with EAX effects).

Today is 10 November 2008. There is no OpenAL 1.1 (with EAX effects) for X-FI on Linux. Creative, are you going to break promise? | |

| | There is a new release (as of Nov 6th 2008) of Creative's 32bit and 64bit Linux drivers for hardware based X-Fi cards. Not sure if OpenAL / EAX are supported - but progress is being made.
