When a Dock contains a PCI SB Audigy card, CTHelper.exe prevents the machine from undocking. This is most likely caused by CTHelper.exe ignoring the undock request and not releasing handles to the sound card. Laptop is a Dell Precision M70 with a D-Dock. Temporary solution is to prevent CTHelper.exe from running on startup.

Installed driver on a clean install of Vista 64-bit and find under "Control Panel"-"Sounds" that the speakers are available as an output (and 7.1 speakers is available and working) but SP-DIF output is not available pr listed.

With almost anything that uses any 3D audio, including games such as Oblivion, Operation Flashpoint, Neverwinter Nights 2, etc, with or without OpenAL will eventually cause the audio output to become nothing but very loud squeals regardless of what happens regarding the audio or device later. Disable+reenable has no effect, other attempts to reinitialize have no effect, only rebooting has any effect. Some games (such as 'Hammerfall', a russian physics-heavy game) make it happen much more often (2-3 minutes or so) than others. Things that use DirectSound 2D API instead of the 3D API (such as Winamp) never cause the issue, anything that uses DirectSound, DirectSound3D, OpenAL, or WaveOut once the issue becomes active are affected. On Vista (32-bit), anything that uses ALchemy or otherwise accesses OpenAL will instantly cause the issue, on XP, this will usually take some time for the issue to appear. This appears to be a driver issue, as all versions of Creative Labs drivers are affected, everything from the original driver CD (2003 or so I believe) to the very latest 2007 July beta drivers. Current KX drivers (even with apps that extensively use DirectSound audio) and Linux ALSA drivers (though not using 3D audio subsystem) are not affected. This issue makes gaming using any Creative Labs drivers virtually impossible (and inconvenient otherwise). Even when this happens, nothing will BSOD XP (so it is similar, but apparently not identical to the old reports of the 'squeal of death').

DTS AND AC3 Decoding don't work anymore with the beta drivers, no problems with official one on windows xp sp2

After installing this Betadriver, I got no sound at all. When I want to open the AudioConsole, it says that there is no Sounddevice... Using Audigy ZS2

Sometimes the spdif decoding dissappear or can not be selecting on dvd software like wmp, powerdvd. The problems not happen with the official one. I use second beta drivers on xp

With the newest betas as of today 30/08/07 :- - On card SPDIF decoding does not work (error connecting pin in media player classic) - Volume control in the volume panel is broken (just sits in one position and does not control volume)

Exactly the same issue as mentioned before concerning the missing CMSS3D feature. Obviously, it seems to be disabled.

Whenever the system is very busy, Ea. the CPU(s) are busy 100% during load of games or save activities, the sound initially gets corrupted and inevitably becomes the famous creative 'squeal of death'
It looks like whenever sounds needs to be re-queued, or whatever you are doing in those situations where sounds gets timed-out due to heavy system load, the recovery actions are not done properly and the sounds gets distorted. And in my case in time it becomes just a loud squeal and I have to reboot the system to reset.
I almost looks like the recovery process is corrupting the queue and eventually some code gets overwritten.
I mainly have this problem when running BioShock at the moment. Cannot play more then +/- 30 minutes at the most before I have to reboot. This is with and without the BioShock EAX functionality of the game activated. I also have it with COD2.
I am running the latest Prod drivers 2.15.0002. Also added the latest Beta om top but still the same problem.

Please fix crystalizer problem, i choose in 100%, but when i restart windows Crystalizer in all modes is set to 65%.

The current beta drivers are due to expire in December 2007. When will the next beta driver be released as these drivers are the only ones that work properly on my system? Why do these drivers have an expiry date in the first place? I'm happy to run beta drivers and understand the implied "use at your own risk" policy. Can the next version be released without an expiry date??

Hi, Are you developer guys actually planing on releasing a new updated beta driver or even a final release driver, your last update was the 27th August 2007. An update would be nice.
