Counter-Strike Source and other source based games
Hi there. I just purchased ALchemy Audigy edition and I tride tried something with CSS and other source based games. In CSS under audio options you have the ability to test your soundconfiguration and guess what: Every single speaker responds accordingly so no need to apply ALchemy here. I also notice that 5.1 does work in all the other source games e.g Half-Life 2 without using Alchemy. I know that these games are not officially supported by ALchemy but they do appear in the unofficial games list and I am wondering why!? Best regards

The Source engines games will use software DS3D processing to enable surround sound which is why you hear 5.1 audio without ALchemy.

Using ALchemy with Source engine games can still offer some advantages - including higher quality mixing, sample-rate conversion and 3D Audio processing.
